Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install anything?

No. Each application runs in your web browser using WebAssembly. Open it from the directory and it starts in the tab.

Are my files uploaded to this website?

No. Files you open in the applications are read and processed by your own browser on your device. Saving or exporting creates a download on your device. The website's server only delivers the application files.

Do I need a dedicated graphics card?

No. The applications use WebGPU or WebGL2, which built-in (integrated) graphics provide. If graphics acceleration is unavailable, many applications can run in a slower compatibility mode, and the page tells you what to do if graphics are turned off completely.

Do the applications work on phones and tablets?

Yes, with a browser that supports WebAssembly and WebGL2 (current Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge). They are full desktop-class applications, so a tablet or a phone in landscape gives the most room. On phones the interface is scaled to fit and can be adjusted from the small handle at the top of each application.

An application is stuck or shows an error. What can I do?

Each application shows its start-up progress. If something fails, it explains the problem and offers Retry or a compatibility mode. Closing other heavy tabs helps on devices with little memory.

Who made these applications?

They are open-source applications created by their original authors and released under the MIT and Apache-2.0 licences. See Copyright & Licenses for the notices.
